our story

built for her. by someone who loves her.

Monthlee started with one woman in pain, one man who refused to accept that was just the way things were, and a question that turned out to have no good answer.

She had suffered her whole life. Every month, the same story — days lost, plans cancelled, pain that ibuprofen barely touched. It was just accepted. Endured. Quietly pushed through.

He started looking for something better. A device, a product, anything that could give her real relief without pills, without side effects, without having to choose between managing her pain and getting on with her life.

What he found was a gap. Despite the fact that every single woman between roughly thirteen and fifty experiences periods — and many experience debilitating pain with them — there was almost nothing out there designed specifically to help. No permanent, reusable, drug-free solution that a woman could reach for in the moment and trust to work.

So they built one.

"We started Monthlee because there simply is not enough being done for women with period pain — despite it affecting every woman on earth. We wanted to be one of the first companies to properly change that."

Monthlee was founded to close that gap. To use clinically proven technology — TENS — in a form that was actually designed for women: discreet enough to wear under clothes, fast enough to work in minutes, powerful enough to handle the worst days.

It is also, quietly, a statement. That period pain is not a niche problem. That women deserve real solutions, not just painkillers and sympathy.

why emmeline?

named after a woman who refused to wait.

When it came to naming the device, there was one choice that felt right immediately.

Emmeline Pankhurst led the suffragette movement in the UK — fighting, at enormous personal cost, for women to be seen, heard, and taken seriously in a world that had decided they did not need to be. No one did more for British women. No one was more unrelenting in the belief that women deserved better than what they had been given.

That felt like exactly the right spirit for a product designed to give women back days that pain had taken from them.

Emmeline: named after a woman who changed what women were allowed to expect.

our mission

period pain is not a niche issue. we are going to treat it that way.

We believe the lack of research, investment, and innovation in period pain relief is one of the most overlooked gaps in women's health. We are working to change that — starting with a product that actually works, and building towards a world where women do not have to just get on with it.

Emmeline is the first step. It will not be the last.
